Friend, in Sunday’s televised debate I once again voiced my strong support for the Green New Deal. Unfortunately, not every Democrat in the debate with me agreed — so I want to hear from you.

Take this one question survey to let me know where you stand on supporting the Green New Deal.

In our debates, the candidates have been asked a simple yes or no question: Do you support the Green New Deal. My answer is simple: Yes. To meet the scale of our environmental and economic crises, we need to act with urgency and boldness. The Green New Deal will create jobs and invest in a clean energy infrastructure that will remake our economy for the 21st century and save the planet. Unfortunately, not all of my opponents agree.

I’ve already been attacked for supporting the Green New Deal by the Georgia Action Fund, the Super PAC supporting David Perdue, and the conservative Washington Free Beacon newspaper. They say I’ve been “caught on camera” supporting this policy, apparently overlooking the fact that we’ve released our own campaign videos supporting it.

I’m not running away from this issue because David Perdue and his billionaire backers attack me for it. As Democrats, we need to fight for the bold policies and values we believe in.

If any of my opponents can’t voice a simple “yes” in support of the Green New Deal in a Democratic debate, imagine what they’d do in the face of Republican attacks.

That’s why it’s important that we nominate someone who won’t be bullied by the Republican Party when faced with an issue as existential as climate crisis.

So if you haven’t already, share your thoughts with me to let me know where you stand.

Thank you,
Teresa
