Hey John – I emailed you a few days ago about how far-right extremist Charlie Kirk was attacking me (I had the audacity to call out fascists’ use of the “DEI” as a racist dog whistle).
But now that Vice President Harris is rising in the polls against Trump, the far right is doubling down on its bigoted rhetoric against Black people.
I said it before, and I’ll say it again: I’ll never stop calling out the far right’s blatant racism. And I’ll never stop fighting to protect communities being targeted by extremists for political clout.

The fight for our future is officially on, John.
I went on CNN to call out the far-right’s use of the word DEI as a racist dog whistle (because it is). And right-winger Charlie Kirk and his bigoted buddies immediately attacked me. Just look what they’re saying on social media:
We need to call the far-right’s use of DEI for exactly what it is: a brazenly racist attack on Black people. They want these attacks to cost me my seat, so I need a huge surge of support behind me – 1,000 donations before midnight – to make Charlie Kirk and the far-right’s racist attacks BACKFIRE. >>
Look, I’m an Afro-Latino, Gen Z organizer, child of immigrants who always stands up to racism – I know I’m their worst nightmare.
But I also know this: When extremists are attacking you for calling out racism, you’re doing something right. Because they only push this hard when they think our movement is a threat to theirs.
I ran on the hope that we can have elected officials who will do what’s right. As long as I’m in Congress, I’ll always do that. I just need your help to stay here, and it has to come now – before the next extremist attack.
