Dear John,

Refugees and asylum seekers around the world face grave dangers from the
coronavirus pandemic. In these uncertain times, HIAS continues to offer vital
support.

The economic impact of the pandemic on refugees has been devastating. To support
those who have lost their jobs in South America and Africa, we’re providing
emergency cash-based assistance to ensure that refugees can access the food,
medical supplies and basic necessities they need most. We're partnering with
local supermarkets in Ecuador and connecting refugee families with volunteer
networks in Israel to help meet the critical need for food. And we’re reaching
out to refugees across the 16 countries where we work to provide remote legal
aid, assistance for survivors of gender-based violence, mental health support,
and other essential services.

During this time, refugees and asylum seekers need our support. In light of
this, we wanted to reach out and let you know about Giving Tuesday Now on
Tuesday, May 5 – a one-time event designed to help organizations like HIAS meet
the unprecedented global needs created by COVID-19.

We've set a goal to raise $50,000 by Tuesday to support refugees affected by the
pandemic. We understand how challenging these times are for so many people, but
if you're in a position to help, the gift you make today will help us offer
lifesaving services to refugees facing extremely difficult circumstances.

Please make a gift of $18 today to help provide refugees
and asylum seekers with essential support like cash assistance, medical supplies
and food.
