    2024 Election Issues: Antitrust

Health care and health policy continue to be talking points on both sides of the aisle leading into the 2024 presidential election.

Today's topic is antitrust enforcement issues and policy.

Antitrust is an increasingly political issue as the FTC increases its scrutiny over mergers and potential monopolies.

Both the current and former administrations have used lawsuits to tackle antitrust activity.

For example, the Trump administration filed an antitrust lawsuit against Google while the Biden administration blocked a number of health care mergers and updated the federal government’s merger guidelines.

Below, we have gathered together journal and Forefront articles as well as podcasts published by Health Affairs that offer rigorous, evidence-based perspectives on the health care issues and challenges facing policymakers, practitioners, and citizens.
