John,
Your vote matters.
When you show up to cast a ballot, you have the power to
determine your own destiny, you have the power to determine the
destiny of your family and loved ones, and you have the power to
create real change in your community.
That’s why it’s critical that all eligible New Yorkers
register to vote. It only takes a few minutes, and you can do it
online right now — on National Voter Registration
Day!
In New York, eligible voters can register to vote until
October 26, but don’t wait. By getting
registered now, you’ll be all set to vote in the November 5
general election!

I believe we should expand access to the ballot box and
ensure all New York voters can make their voices heard — and that’s
not just talk. As a result of our actions:
- New Yorkers have more time to register to vote (make sure to
register by October 26!)
-
New Yorkers can register to vote
and cast their ballots on the same
day at their early voting site on October 26
- New Yorkers can vote early by mail
-
17-year-olds who will turn 18 by Election Day and are
pre-registered to vote can request an absentee or early mail vote
ballot
When I look out on the New York City harbor and see Lady Liberty,
with her torch enlightening the world with freedom, I often think
about the world we are leaving behind to the next generation. I hope
that when our grandchildren and great-grandchildren look back at us,
they see that we took the torch of freedom and democracy, and made it
glow even brighter.
Ever Upward,
Gov. Kathy Hochul
