Dear Reader and Supporter,
I hope this message finds you well. From the moment the COVID-19 pandemic began
to dominate our lives, we have witnessed how Catholics on a global level, beginning
with the Holy Father, have followed their baptismal call to serve God's people,
to share our faith and pray for each other in this very difficult time. We have
also witnessed how the temples may have been closed but the church has remained
very much alive participating in online liturgies, prayers, novenas, groups and
more, as we accompany each other in these very challenging times.
It has been our faith, prayer, and how we share with each other at a time we're
forced to stay in place, away from loved ones and our work, that keep us moving
forward and looking toward the future with hope.
More than ever before, we rely on online connections, live streaming, social media
and excellent Catholic publications to keep us connected and informed. NCR has remained
concerned and consistent throughout this crisis that it would provide the same quality,
trustworthy, independent journalism it is recognized and respected for. NCR also
supports its editorial team and staff in an effort to continue serving its readership
and the Catholic community, not just during the crisis, but as we plan to rebuild
organizations and ministries. We're living historic times as a church and society;
it's a time where we have gone out of our way to help each other weather the storm.
My prayers are with all who are suffering during this pandemic and have lost family
members.
