Montana values are in my bones. As a kid, I lost three fingers on my left hand in a meat grinding accident. Sharla and I spend every spring planting and every August harvesting. I’m damn proud to be the Senate’s only working dirt farmer, because it reminds me who I’m fighting for every day.

Mitch McConnell and my opponent Tim Sheehy don’t get it. They think they can just parachute into the state, flood it with dark money, and buy this seat from under us. I’m fed up.

But I’ve got to be frank, John: This race is neck and neck. Outside groups are spending record amounts to defeat me, and they’ll only pour in even more these last few weeks.

Unlike my wealthy opponent, I can’t cut my campaign a multimillion-dollar check whenever I need it. I need grassroots supporters like you to help me stand up against their attacks.

But right now, my team says fundraising is just not where we need it to be. Unless we raise another $24,672 by tonight, we’ll have to start cutting our budget, when we need to be ramping up.
