This week, concerns about America's food supply chain made the news, as Tys=
on Foods -- a major supplier -- took out a full-page ad warning of potentia=
l crisis ahead with meat supply.

In response, President Trump acted swiftly and decisively, as he and his Ad=
ministration have continued to do throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He used=
the Defense Production Act, which he invoked previously for production of =
other critical supplies, to protect our country's food supply chain and all=
eviate public concern.

[President Trump acts quickly to secure our country's food supply chain.]

This week, concerns about America's food supply chain made the news, as Tyson Foods -- a major supplier -- took out a full-page ad warning of potential crisis ahead with meat supply.

In response, President Trump acted swiftly and decisively, as he and his Administration have continued to do throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. He used the Defense Production Act, which he invoked previously for production of other critical supplies, to protect our country's food supply chain and alleviate public concern.

"More practically, we believe that our political system itself benefits strongly from the presumption of innocence. If the mere introduction of an accusation is sufficient to prompt a candidate’s withdrawal, the incentives for false charges will grow legion. A woman has alleged that Joe Biden sexually assaulted her in 1993. The story has not unleashed the media firestorm that allegations did against now-Justice Kavanaugh during his Supreme Court confirmation hearing in summer 2018, and high-profile endorsements of Biden continue to roll in from the left.

We won't speculate on the truth of the allegation, and we will emphasize that it is an allegation. Biden has denied it, and the allegation to the contrary is not a proven fact.

That's where this smart, sharp National Review piece <[link removed]> comes in on the disgraceful double standard in the media coverage of this allegation. Here are the opening lines; it's worth your time to read the rest <[link removed]> :

"We do not know whether the accusations that Tara Reade has leveled against Joe Biden are true or false. That is a question of evidence and of inquiry that might be answered as time rolls on. We do know, by contrast, that the double standard that has been exhibited by Biden’s campaign and by the political press in tandem is a national disgrace. Both culturally and legally, due process must be habitually applied to nobody or to everyone. If, upon the most frivolous and protean of pretexts, it is routinely accorded to one faction while being denied to another, it is effectively lost."

The University of Delaware -- which is the university of Joe Biden's home state -- has had his Senate records since 2011. The original plan was for them to be released by December 31, 2019 or when Biden retired from public office.

But last spring, that deadline was changed to be no sooner than December 31 and no later than two years after Biden "retires from public life." Which, if he wins the presidential election, could be many years in the future.

Reporters are interested in accessing these documents, especially as Biden's accuser has alleged that she submitted a written report that should be part of those records. But the university is reportedly silent on questions about the agreement, as the Daily Wire reported <[link removed]> .

It's too soon to make solid predictions about what will happen to scheduling for either major political party's convention this summer due to COVID-19 restrictions. But it's interesting to note that Democrats have started to signal that their convention may be online ... while Republicans are still committed to an in-person event.

Conventions are exciting, party-building events, with multiple days of speeches, meetings, and social events. What they look like this summer will depend on how our fight against the COVID-19 pandemic has progressed. But no matter what, it'll be anything but politics as usual in the 2020 election.
