On California Indian Cultural Awareness Day, we honored Taralyn Ipina, a member of the Yurok tribe. She currently serves as the tribe's first Chief Operating Officer. Taralyn, along with her tribe, spearheaded the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples Day of Action at the state Capitol in 2022. Her efforts have effectuated meaningful change in her community. I'm so happy to recognize & celebrate her life saving achievements.



On National Night Out, we honored our first responders. Thank you for keeping our communities safe! And thanks to the public for meeting and joining their neighbors at this yearly event.



Always joyful starting my day at CicLAvia ! CicLAVia weekends are the best! Thank you CicLAvia for showing us year after year how great our cities could be if our streets were built for people, not just cars.



It was an honor to attend the LA County LGBTQ+ Elected Officials Inaugural Installation. These public servants lead with determination, bravery and pride.



And I got to participate in our family’s own transition: the move to middle school! Flew home from Sacramento to walk Rachel to her first day at her new school. We have so much to be excited and joyful for!



I’m so grateful to everyone around our district, and the best part of this campaign is meeting people where they are.

We’ve done so much, but we still have a lot of work ahead of us between now and November 5. And as always, it’s grassroots donors who are going to get us there.
