Dear Preservation Supporter,

Over the past month, as we’ve needed to socially distance ourselves from another, it’s remarkable how much we’ve come together as communities.

We’ve checked on neighbors together. We’ve supported local businesses together. We’ve laughed, and sometimes cried, together. Even though we’re isolated, we’re still very united.

With this yearning for greater connection, it’s been a challenging time to have our historic sites closed. While we’ve found unique and virtual ways to give people tours, it’s hard not to offer communities a semblance of belonging in the way we normally would.

Our historic sites—and thousands of others around the country—are community touchstones and they will be even more meaningful when this crisis subsides.

It’s among the reasons long-term supporter of the National Trust, the Robert W. Wilson Charitable Trust, has stepped forward to match all gifts we receive.

Joining the National Trust today will help us continue to preserve the remarkable historic sites and places that anchor our communities and our country… places that bring us together and give us hope for tomorrow.

And today, your generous gift will be matched, with every $2 you give becoming $3.

Your matching gift will help us reach further to save historic places at a time when connection, community, and collective hope are so needed.

We look forward to the time when we can gather in places that bring us joy and connect anew with each other, face to face, side by side, arm in arm.

Saving historic places together,

Paul Edmondson
