   John,
With a critical election ahead of us, Republicans are launching nationwide
campaigns to spread hateful lies about immigrants and our communities. In
fact, more than 46 million people living in the United States were born
   elsewhere.
Yet despite their proven contributions to their communities, Republicans
continue to twist the truth and launch hate campaigns targeting them. Here
are three of some of the most common lies Republicans say about
   immigrants:
     * Claim: It’s illegal to ask for asylum.
Reality: It’s legal for people to come to the United States and ask
for asylum. It’s a long and complicated process, and not everyone is
approved, so it’s not a free ticket into the United States.
     * Claim: All undocumented people are dangerous.
Reality: No one is dangerous just because they’re undocumented. In
fact, a study found that U.S.-born citizens are more likely to be
arrested for violent, drug-related, and property crimes.
     * Claim: Undocumented people take advantage of benefits.
Reality: Undocumented people pay an estimated $31 billion dollars in
taxes each year and receive almost no benefits for their
       contributions.
   John, the
Republican anti-immigration campaign is based on lies and xenophobia, and
   we need to fight back.

Republicans have a plan for undocumented people, and it’s extreme.
According to Donald Trump, if re-elected, he will carry out the largest
domestic mass deportation plan in American history.
He wants to use the National Guard to knock down doors and take
undocumented people into detention camps. This is a real plan that’s
written down in Project 2025 — and he wants to see it through. This year,
Trump killed a bipartisan deal over the southern border so he can enact
   his agenda in the future.
   John, Donald
Trump and other Republicans want to see undocumented people put in
detention camps. This is disgusting, and we need to make sure it never
   happens.

Legal Resource Center, National Immigrant Justice Center, and Advocates
for Immigrant Rights to fight back against the GOP’s ominous plan for our
   future.
