Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate,
cementing the Democratic ticket that will take on and beat Donald Trump

life to public service, first serving in the National Guard for over 20
years. He then went on to become a public school teacher where he served

Walz later went on to serve in Congress for more than a decade before
becoming governor in 2019. In just 5 years, Walz has fielded a string of
accomplishments for Minnesotans including:
* Cut taxes for working families.
* Passed a law to provide paid family and medical leave.
* Worked with Republicans to pass significant infrastructure
investments.
* Made Minnesota the first state to pass a law providing constitutional
abortion protections after the overturning of Roe v. Wade.
* Passed a bill that requires universal background checks for gun
purchases.
