That’s why we have the ear of candidates and why we are launching our Moms' Seal of Approval on Child Care - a powerful way to make sure candidates are prioritizing child care in their policy platforms now and implementing good policy if they are elected.
Now is the time for candidates of all stripes to be listening to American families and making their case for our votes: what will they fight for and prioritize? For moms, parents, and families across the country, one thing is clear: we need serious candidates who are serious about solving the child care crisis.
What’s the Moms' Seal of Approval on Child Care? We’re glad you asked! We hear from moms and families every day about the impact of the child care crisis on families across the country. The Moms' Seal of Approval on Child Care has been co-developed with MomsRising parent leaders to raise the profile of child care in the election and tell candidates what a gold star child care plan looks like. What do families want? You already know:
Affordability: Every family has access to publicly-supported affordable, high-quality early learning opportunities for children birth to school age. Families, at a minimum, pay no more than $10 a day on child care with most paying less or nothing.
Accessibility: Families have the freedom to find and choose the child care setting that matches their families’ needs regardless of zip code.
Quality: Child care educators are compensated with family-sustaining wages and benefits and are surrounded by resources and support to ensure quality early childhood experience for all children.
Moms and caregivers across the country are deploying as we speak to challenge Presidential and Congressional candidates to earn the Moms' Seal of Approval on Child Care to tell voters that they will fight for child care when they are in office. With your help, we’ll make sure that if elected, they will deliver!
Signing on is important - your voice adds to the voice of others, and shows the urgency and seriousness that child care deserves! Moms in states across the country will be delivering these letters to candidates down the ballot to challenge them to earn the Moms' Seal of Approval on Child Care – and your voice and demand helps build the momentum and the urgent need for candidates to prioritize what families want and need: affordable child care now!
