** DC to Hire Hundreds of Additional Contact Tracers to Support COVID-19 Response Efforts

Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser established the DC Contact Tracing Force ([link removed][UNIQID]) to hire hundreds of additional tracers at DC Health.
DC Health currently has about 65 contact tracers, and about 70% of confirmed cases have been traced. The Force is in the process of increasing that team to about 200 tracers, with up to an additional 700 tracers to be hired through Phase One of re-opening the District.

Hardware stores have been deemed essential businesses and are open and operating in Ward 5 and DC. Both Annie's Hardware in Edgewood/Brookland ([link removed][UNIQID]) and Jenks Hardware on Bladensburg Road NE ([link removed][UNIQID]) are open during the public health emergency. Browse online and pickup your items or stop by for a minimal-contact visit soon.
