They insinuated that we want New Mexicans to contract COVID-19. How can anyone say that?
These deceitful attacks are false, grossly inappropriate, and unbecoming of the office of the Governor.

What makes it worse is that the Governor refused to rebuke the statements made by her staff. The Governor’s office will stop at nothing to scare the public by politicizing the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Republican Party of New Mexico has repeatedly stated that the health and safety of all New Mexicans is the highest priority. We’re on the frontline of the battle to protect our businesses and know we can do it while protecting our citizens at the same time.
There have also been reports in the media of the Governor’s spokesman publicly claiming Republicans are advocating for further spread of the virus.
By her actions, the Governor has shown that she couldn't care less about the offensive remarks. It seems she thinks Republicans – who are as much her constituents as anyone else – aren’t worth an apology.
