COVID-19 is upsetting and disruptive. If you don’t have the time or space to engage with politics right now, we understand— enter your info and we’ll pause your emails for the next few weeks.
<[link removed]> At Swing Left, we’re still working on the November elections because, despite the circumstances, Republicans will do anything to hold onto their power. If you’re ready to help elect responsible leaders, keep reading to learn how you can transform our government.

Hi Swing Left,

I’m Tzipora, the Director of Grassroots Donations here at Swing Left. I wanted to send you a brief update about our fundraising efforts during this crisis.

As cities and states started imposing stay-at-home orders, we paused our grassroots fundraising program that supports candidates up and down the ballot. We wanted to give everyone some time to get their bearings—this crisis is financially and medically devastating for lots of people. We also wanted to give ourselves some space to research the best ways to help you give meaningfully and strategically as national priorities change.

First, it’s important to note that while we’re pausing our candidate fundraising, we’re not changing the fundraising strategy behind our work. Democratic candidates are still running in close races and they still need our support to beat their GOP opponents this November.

But we also know that there’s tremendous need for immediate things like food, cash assistance, medical supplies, and more. To make things worse, Republicans have been using the crisis to suppress the vote in places like Wisconsin and across the country.

So, we put together the COVID-19 Relief Fund to send donations directly to organizations on the frontlines of this crisis. The fund focuses on two fronts: the work to provide vulnerable communities with the goods and services they need, and the work being done to provide access to the ballot.

Make a donation to the COVID-19 Relief Fund today—every dollar goes directly to some of the most impactful relief and voter registration organizations on the ground today.

This pandemic is affecting all of us, but some of us are being hit harder than others. If you aren’t in the position to donate right now, we totally understand and support that decision.

In the absence of responsible and informed leadership from the Trump administration, it’s on all of us to support each other. And, for those who are able, to continue our work to help Democrats win this November.

Right now, giving to organizations working on the ground is a great way to make an impact. In the coming weeks, we’ll get back to what we know best: raising money for the candidates who can beat Trump and the GOP this November and transform our government for the better.

Thanks,

Tzipora Lederman
