Friend, if I was voting today, I would vote no.

I am dismayed that House Democrats have been put in this position by Republicans, but I believe it’s precisely due to our failure to stand up and exercise power when it is needed most.

I've spent the better part of the past two weeks tearing up and reworking my already underfunded FY21 Budget because Congress, both Republicans and Democrats, stopped representing the people.

Our movement talks a lot about power. Who has it, and how they use it. My opponent has power as Chair of Ways and Means, but uses it to protect the financial security of corporations instead of protecting working families and vulnerable essential workers.

I am running for Congress to amplify the voice of the people and drown out the corporate noise that has polluted every single relief effort our government has put forward since the beginning of this crisis. Can you join our efforts by making a $15 contribution right now to help us meet our goal to raise $10,000 before the end of this month? Your contribution will help keep up our fight for a more representative democracy.

Trust me, I know what it’s like to have your power met with opposition. In 2012, I was sued by my own City Council in Holyoke for launching a needle exchange program. But politics isn’t 1’s and 0’s, our actions have long-term consequences and meaning.

I hope that Congressional Democrats find their voice. If not their own, then the voice of the people they were elected to represent. And it is time that our District finds its own voice again in Congress. With your contribution, we’ll make another step towards that victory. Can you show your support with a contribution today?
