Salaam John,

Yesterday marked a significant day in our ongoing struggle for justice and democracy. I want to share a recap of the events and our efforts to make our voices heard.

Yesterday, we witnessed an unsettling moment as Prime Minister Netanyahu delivered a divisive and troubling speech in front of Congress. During the speech, PM Netanyahu misrepresented the tragic realities of the ongoing campaign of violence against Palestinians, which have taken the lives of over 38,000 civilians, with countless lives still unaccounted for under the rubble. Despite evidence to the contrary, he claimed that Israel had caused very few civilian casualties and had taken ample steps to protect innocent people. He also falsely asserted that he had not blocked humanitarian aid from entering Gaza.

In his remarks, PM Netanyahu plainly showed his selfish agenda. He urged Congress to speed up the transfer of billions of dollars in U.S. weapons to Israel, despite receiving a mountain of unconditional military support for months.

I am proud to say that our dedicated team was on the ground, actively protesting against the address. We stood together to show our unwavering commitment to human rights and justice for all.

Emgage Action has taken a strong stance against Netanyahu’s address, urging Congress to boycott this address through our call to action. Around half of Congress' Democrats skipped the address.
