Almas and her family arrived at a refugee settlement in Sudan with few resources—and confronted a terrifyingly bleak situation.

"They provided me with medicine for the baby's head before, and they gave me some medicine in syrup form." Almas recalled, "In the first week, they gave him medicine and he got better. In the second week, they gave him pills and when he took them, his weight increased."
