Today is Earth Day, a day dedicated to fighting for environmental protections around the world. On this day, we recognize the need for new federal leadership in this country - leadership that prioritizes our planet and our changing landscape.

It’s time for new leadership because for too long, Jason Smith has ignored or denied the needs of our environment and the impact it has on our workers:

▶️ He vocally supports eliminating the EPA
▶️ He voted No on every single climate bill since taking office, including the Climate Action Now Bill which requires the President to comply with the Paris Accords
▶️ In 2014, he co-sponsored HR 5078: Waters of the United States Regulatory Overreach Protection Act of 2014, which prohibited the EPA from fully implementing the Clean Water Act
▶️ He takes huge checks from Big Oil and the Coal Industry, all of which are exploiting districts like mine
