John,
ICYMI – Last night at the RNC, Donald Trump began his speech by describing the horrifying scene at the rally where he was shot, one of his supporters was killed, and two more were critically injured a week ago. He now has something in common with the nearly 120,000 Americans who are shot every year. And yet, in the 90 minutes he spoke, he did not once mention solutions or actions he would take to save lives from the epidemic that just nearly took his.
Since the shooting, he and his supporters have described how he was chosen by God, who saved him from becoming the victim of gun violence. What does that say about the 45,000+ Americans – including children in their classrooms, homes, and playgrounds – whose lives are cut short by a gun every year?
Trump’s words and actions over the past week have done nothing to calm the American people and have at times made a mockery of gun violence victims and survivors. And his supporters are joining in. You’ve probably seen RNC attendees wearing fake bandages on their ears and his cronies like Marjorie Taylor Greene – who herself has harassed victims of gun violence, including Parkland survivor and MFOL co-founder David Hogg – take the stage to spew lies about what happened at the rally.

Meanwhile, only 6 months ago, Trump told the Perry, Iowa community to “get over it,” and “move forward,” after a deadly school shooting where seven were injured and a sixth-grader and the school’s principal were killed.
Trump has adamantly denied a gun problem in America even exists and shifts the blame for gun violence to mental illness, marijuana, and the transgender community – it’s disgusting.
We can’t and won’t “get over” this deadly epidemic.
We can’t get discouraged or distracted by the conspiracy theories and trivialization of this national crisis. Too many lives are on the line. Will you donate today so we can keep fighting for a future where communities are free from trauma and terror?
Thank you — together we can,
March For Our Lives
