Today we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.

While it comes at a time of considerable hardship, this Earth Day also provides us the opportunity to take stock of the impact that we, in our everyday lives, have on our environment. The temporary easing of global pollution amidst this pandemic provides a glimmer of hope that we can address climate change with a collective, concerted effort. But the hardships we are experiencing are also a humbling reminder of what our future will hold if we do not fight ardently against this threat.

The solution? We must enact a Green New Deal. The United States would operate on 100% clean, renewable energy within ten years, and, in the process, create millions of quality, high-paying jobs to carry out this transition and, most importantly, protect our planet.
Can you contribute right now to help me get to the Senate so I can steward this plan through Congress? [[link removed]]
Here in Maine, climate change is already threatening our fishing, forestry, agriculture and tourism; the Green New Deal ensures that these industries, and the jobs they create, will be protected. It will also preserve our state’s natural beauty so that it can be cherished for generations to come. I am proud to make the Green New Deal a central tenet of my campaign.

On this Earth Day, let’s pause and recognize our potential for world-saving impact if we work with each other — let’s fight for the Green New Deal together.
Can you chip in today to support my campaign for US Senate and bring us one step closer to a Green New Deal? [[link removed]]
