Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who made headlines last month by suggesting that older Americans lay down their lives in order to save the economy, doubled down on his dangerous comments this week.

"...There are more important things than living,” Patrick said on Fox News. Really? But that is the GOP message to our 3 million seniors in Texas and the 74 million in America.

He’s made it perfectly clear that he’s more worried about an economic slowdown than the health and safety of Texans, who helped to build and sustain this state!

While Dan Patrick spent his career spewing vitriol from the safety of his radio studio, I served my country for almost 30 years. I’ve led in combat zones and seen death and destruction.

I volunteered to keep America safe so people back home could live comfortable lives and to suggest that an entire generation of Americans put someones' stock portfolios over Texas lives is appalling.

So, Jack xxxxxx, do you think Lt. Gov. Patrick is right in putting a couple of GDP points ahead of Texans’ health and safety?
