  • Since the end of May, activists and donors have noted that the Republican legislature’s failure to deliver on conservative policy priorities is jeopardizing Republicans’ ability to win the state in 2020. A conservative donor and businessman, Don Dyer, this summer announced the Lone Star Agenda – a plan developed by “grassroots leaders and nearly every conservative organization in Texas” to unify the state’s Republican leaders and voters.

  • “Texas is now a Purple State. To turn it Royal Blue, Democrats plan to inspire, excite and ignite Democratic voters. What’s our plan? It’s evident Republican leaders don’t have one that inspires confidence in their grassroots supporters.” – Don Dyer, a member of the Lone Star Agenda Coalition

  • As of late last week, more than 225 grassroots leaders have endorsed the Lone Star Agenda.

  • In addition to the items on the Lone Star Agenda, Texas taxpayers are hoping lawmakers will provide more property tax reform... and a lot more real and meaningful property tax relief!

  • Republican lawmakers should embrace the Lone Star Agenda as their governing promise for Texans... and start making it a reality right now.

The Lone Star Agenda includes...

Family Rights and Personal Liberty
Placing the constitutional rights of Texans to liberty and self-determination for themselves and their families above the desires of government officials and special interests.

  • Allow families to make mental and physical health decisions for themselves.
  • Stop wrongful removal of children from families by restoring due process rights for parents.
  • Stop local ordinances that interfere in private employer-employee relationships.
  • Increase protections for unborn Texans.

Transparent and Representative Government
Reform and protect the Texas institutions that are critical to our historical identity as the Lone Star State.

  • Improve election integrity (paper ballot backup audit trail; citizenship verification).
  • End taxpayer funded lobbying.
  • End union dues withholding from public sector paychecks.
  • Protect Texas monuments.

Justice and Security
Improve the security of Texans to be safe in their communities and free from injustice.

  • Secure the southern border (interior enforcement to end the “magnet” effect).
  • Stop human trafficking.
  • Protect the rights of Texans to bear arms.
