Hey John,

We’re halfway through the summer, and it’s heating up here at March For Our Lives HQ. Over the last two months, the organizing team and the rest of us at March For Our Lives have been working hard to ensure that gun violence prevention is prioritized this election.

In a dangerous decision last month, far-right justices of the Supreme Court once again legalized the use of bump stocks– setting a precedent that will cause more unneeded deaths. However, we’ve also made progress recently. During the same Supreme Court term, the court affirmed the right to disarm domestic abusers and protect those most vulnerable.

Additionally, the Surgeon General of the United States classified gun violence as a public health crisis– framing the way our work is done and continuing to fulfill our vision of addressing gun violence as a wholesale intervention in our public safety system.

John, we’re making real progress in our fight for a safer America. But we still need your help. I want to invite you to our July Mass Call. We’ll discuss how we’re breaking down the gun lobby’s strategy with Project 2025 and our plan to build a new political alignment behind our vision of ending gun violence.

It is our world to win, and it is going to take all of is working together to end gun violence.
