![]() Team, Last week, Amanda introduced new legislation that would make it free for incarcerated individuals to call their loved ones. As it stands, phone calls in state and county detention centers are operated by for-profit companies. Families are faced with burdensome costs to stay in touch with incarcerated relatives. This legislation would join five other states in removing the for-profit model and allow for calls to be made free of charge. Amanda herself made a statement on the bill: “This legislation aims to provide much-needed reform to a critical facet of the criminal justice system here in Pennsylvania. Giving families the resources they need to stay connected to their loved ones who are incarcerated will improve outcomes and ensure Pennsylvanians will have access to their meaningful support systems.” Amanda continues to do the work of making Pennsylvania a more inclusive place for all of us. Will you help us keep her working for us in the PA Senate by chipping in $17 or any other amount towards her re-election campaign today?
Thank you for standing with Amanda as she fights for our families! – Team Amanda
