Recently, I welcomed President Biden to the commonwealth and introduced him at an event in Philadelphia. I’ll tell you what I told my neighbors then: the stakes of this election are just too damn high. That’s why I’m proud to be a part of Black Americans for Biden-Harris, to share what this administration has done for our communities, and get folks to the polls to win this election. I’ll explain more in a moment, but first, can I ask you to chip in $7 to the DLGA today to support our efforts to get out the Black vote this November?

We need a president who believes in the promise of America: The promise that the son of a union bus driver could one day become the first Black Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania.

President Biden has fought for Black Americans every single day of his presidency and has a remarkable set of accomplishments to show for it: More Black Americans are going to work this morning because he has drastically lowered Black unemployment numbers. Black Americans across the country have more money to save for their families and futures due to the billions of dollars in student loans he has canceled. And he remains committed to securing and protecting access to abortion – even as far-right extremists try to take it away.

Compare that to what he’s up against: A deranged narcissist who called on peaceful Black Lives Matter protesters to be tear-gassed in the wake of George Floyd’s murder. Donald Trump is the same guy who still calls the Central Park Five guilty, even though they were exonerated. His history of racist business practices far predates his political career, and he’s rubbed shoulders with open white supremacists while in office.

One thing is certain – Joe Biden is the only candidate who will uphold the rights and liberties of Black Americans. Black voters are the backbone of our democracy, and we must stand together to defend the progress we’ve made. Are you with us?
