The House under GOP rule has been a masterclass in failed leadership. Republicans have focused more on who can suck up to President Trump, a convicted felon, than on getting anything done for the American people. Let’s take a look back at some of their biggest fails:

1. House Republicans fired the Republican-elected Speaker of the House after only 9 months. After 15 rounds of voting in January 2023, Kevin McCarthy was elected Speaker, but that wouldn’t last long thanks to the extremists in his own party. It took THREE WEEKS and a whole lot of chaos for Republicans to even elect a new speaker, rendering the House completely ineffective in that time.
2. Sucking up to President Trump instead of passing a bipartisan border security deal. After Democrats and Republicans had come together on the terms of a generational border security deal, Trump got wind of it and called it all off so he wouldn’t lose a campaign issue. Instead of standing up to the failed President to deliver for our country, they catered to the demands of the tyrannical leader of their party.
3. Trying, and FAILING to fire yet another Republican-elected Speaker. Marjorie Taylor Greene threw a temper tantrum after Speaker Johnson passed bipartisan budget legislation because it didn’t fit her extremist agenda. She called for a vote to remove her hand-picked Speaker and failed miserably.
