Our health and safety depends on the health of the person next to us, and the person next to them. It was true before COVID. It will be true after COVID. But in this pandemic, it must be our guiding principle. Individual action and social distancing–while critical–aren’t enough. We need a strong, inclusive public response that gets every person in this country the health care they need.
So how do we get there?

We’ll be joined by Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, a physician, epidemiologist, public health expert, and progressive activist. We’ll also hear from local leaders and grassroots activists.
Hospital treatment for coronavirus costs tens of thousands of dollars. People are already delaying treatment due to costs, and some have died after being turned away due to lack of insurance. The number of uninsured and under-insured will likely exceed 100 million people in the U.S. during the pandemic. Those with insurance could still get surprise medical bills. Only collective care can solve these problems.
