 Dear Neighbors,
It?s hard to believe we?re already into the month of June. The recent rainfall we?ve had sure has made things nice and green, and even better, has brought an end to Minnesota?s two-year drought.
The extreme weather events and air quality problems we?ve experienced in recent years demonstrates the need to continue to address climate change?s impacts and work towards a sustainable future. I?m pleased our community is making progress in this area, especially Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan ISD #196! In addition to the additional investments we secured for the Solar for Schools program, I?m excited to share ISD #196 will receive $1.6 million as part of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency?s Clean School Bus Program rebate program. The rebates will be used to cover the cost of 8 buses, which are zero- or low-emission and will improve the health of area children and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. You can read more in my press release here.
Community Coffee Hour at Galaxie Public Library
I?m hosting a second community gathering this month on Saturday, June 15th at 9:30 a.m. at Galaxie Public Library (14955 Galaxie Ave, Apple Valley, MN 55124). All Apple Valley constituents are invited to participate in this nonpartisan, informational event. I hope you can make it; your input is valuable to me.
Keep in Touch
Even if you can?t make it on Saturday, I hope you?ll stay in touch on the issues that matter to you. I can be reached at [email protected] or 651-296-5506. Hearing from you helps me to best represent our Apple Valley community at the State Capitol.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Robert Bierman State Representative?
