In the latest edition of our newsletter, we shine a spotlight on the transformative efforts of the ICRC in north-east Nigeria's conflict-stricken communities.

Amid the shadows of armed conflict, families grapple with the heart-wrenching absence of their missing loved ones. However, in the midst of this turmoil, the ICRC's mental health and psychosocial support teams have emerged as beacons of hope, offering solace and guidance to children like 15-year-old Hadiza Muhammad, whose father vanished a decade ago.

Through dedicated counselling sessions led by compassionate individuals like Muhammad Adam Muhammad, over 330 young hearts have found sanctuary and healing. Their stories of resilience and dreams for the future serve as powerful reminders of the human spirit's indomitable strength in the face of adversity.

In Haiti, health care facilities face immense pressure due to increased patient numbers and closures amid escalating armed violence.

Dr Paul Junior Fontilus, from Hôpital Universitaire la Paix, describes the critical shortages of supplies and sacrifices made by staff. Marisela Silva Chau, the ICRC's head of delegation in Haiti, highlights the dire humanitarian situation, particularly in Port-au-Prince.

Despite the challenges, the ICRC provides vital support, including medical kits and training, to health care facilities. Urgent needs persist, with fuel, oxygen, and blood supplies in high demand.

Through collaborative efforts and unwavering dedication, we continue to stand in solidarity with the people of Haiti, striving to alleviate suffering and provide vital assistance amidst unprecedented challenges.
