With less than five months to go until Election Day, more and more people across the country are starting to tune in to the 2024 campaign. While most eyes and ears are focused on the presidential election, control of Congress is just as important, John!
Democrats are facing a particularly tough fight in the Senate. That means that at the very least, we have to reelect all of our vulnerable incumbents this year and try to expand the razor-thin Senate majority.
That's where Texas comes in, John. Right now, Ted Cruz and Colin Allred are facing off in what is shaping up to be one of the most competitive and expensive Senate races in history. (If you'd like to help us propel Colin to victory, chip in here.)
The two candidates running to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate couldn’t be any different from one another — see for yourself: 👀⬇️

In the Senate, Colin Allred will work to:
- Expand healthcare access to Texans across the state
- Protect reproductive rights and freedoms
- Build an economy that provides good paying jobs and works for all
- Invest more resources into public schools
Meanwhile...

If given another six years, our part-time senator will:
- Flee our state in the event of a blizzard (we can't be 100% sure here, but he's done it before)
- Continue working to erode our democracy
- Rubber stamp the GOP's unpopular and fascist agenda
- Vote for a national abortion ban if given the chance
- Spend the majority of his day tweeting and podcasting rather than working for Texans
There is no comparison to be made between these two candidates, John. One is a dedicated public servant and the other is a far-right flamethrower who's more interested in generating controversy and booking Fox appearances than actually doing the job he was elected for.
Ted Cruz may think he'll easily win another Senate term, but we're going to prove him wrong. Please pitch in $5, $10, or whatever you can today to power our grassroots campaign to Cut Cruz in November.
