The older adult population is the most at-risk for COVID-19 and are being asked by the CDC to stay home...

Good afternoon John,

Did you see this email from last week? We have raised 1/4th of our goal for our coronavirus response campaign #DCYRGivesHope and it's all thanks to the support of our members. We have limited time to reach our goal so if you haven't contributed and you are able, we ask you to do so now.

For the cost of a drink at happy hour, or a morning coffee and bagel, you could provide nourishing food to a low-income senior in Washington, D.C.
* $8 will feed a Senior in need, once
* $22 will feed a Senior in need for one day, with three ready-made meals
* $50 will supply a Senior in need with groceries for one week
* $55 will sponsor a Child receiving pediatric care with comfort items and nourishing food

Your fully tax-deductible donation will go directly to Capital Caring Health, the capital region's largest and oldest hospice and care nonprofit provider. We can help our community but we need your help. Please contribute today to provide food and supplies to Washington D.C.'s most vulnerable. ([link removed][UNIQID])

Thank you for your support,

#DCYRGivesHope to Senior Citizens in Need

As DC battles the Coronavirus Pandemic, we ask our members to consider those in the community who are at the highest risk: our Senior Citizens. Elderly adults make up over 10% of DC's total population and are being asked to stay home. Many are without access to basic food and medication, all while suffering from the effects of isolation. They are inadvertently more at-risk to suffer from health complications due to loneliness and depression, which can lead to weakened immune systems.

To take a stand against Coronavirus and support our Senior Citizens, DCYRs are supporting Capital Caring ([link removed][UNIQID]) Health ([link removed][UNIQID]) , the region's largest non-profit palliative and hospice care provider dedicated to our community's most vulnerable, including low-income seniors and children receiving pediatric care at home. Your contribution ([link removed][UNIQID]) will go towards providing meals, supplies, and needed relief for shut-in Seniors bearing the brunt of this crisis. All donations will go directly to Capital Caring and are fully tax-deductible.

The DCYRs ask for any contribution towards our goal of $2,500. ([link removed][UNIQID])

Donation levels:
* $8 will provide a meal for a Senior Citizen in need.
* $22 will provide a full day of meals for a Senior Citizen in need.
* $50 will provide a Senior Citizen in need with groceries for one week.
* $55 will provide a child receiving pediatric care with comfort items and nourishing food.

We've set up a special donation page to collect and deliver all donations directly to Capital Caring ([link removed][UNIQID]) , and greatly appreciate your support, as we let DC's Senior Citizens know they are not alone during this difficult time.

Please share our link with the Hashtag #DCYRGivesHope. Please see our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages for sharable links, and more information on this important and meaningful effort.
