I know that many of you want to see more investment in the Borders to ensure our public services are fit for the future, the economy grows and provides more good jobs, and local infrastructure is renewed and restored.

I am delighted that a deal has now been agreed, which was announced just last month, for £20 million of UK Government funding to be invested in local projects in the Borders. Securing this funding is one of my proudest achievements.

The £20 million investment - together with the Borderlands Growth Deal - will see all parts of the Borders benefit. It includes around £2.3m to support the bus network, funding to help with the purchase of business units in Eyemouth, and a funding pot to bring land back into use in Hawick. Around £6m will support refurbishment and retrofitting of buildings, youth services and village halls, and over £11m will support local economic development, including hotel development in Galashiels.

This funding will help to create good jobs and give small businesses new opportunities to expand.

In the election on July 4th, if we keep the nationalists out, I'll be able to keep delivering on your local priorities. 

If everyone who wants to beat the SNP comes together and votes for me, I'll be able to keep working hard to deliver more investment in the Borders.
