Plus, find out how you can take action for nature

Hello John,

June is a special and emotional month at Born Free, as we celebrate the 93rd birthday of Dame Virginia McKenna. We’re sure you will join us in wishing our inspiring Co-Founder the happiest of birthdays.

An internationally acclaimed stage and screen actress, author, poet and wildlife campaigner, Virginia was voted one of the most inspirational people of all time in a Daily Telegraph poll. She’s had a dazzling career, yet her passion to help wild animals in need never ends, not least to highlight those exploited in captivity.

Our love and respect, dear Virginia. Working with you is an honour!

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!

NATURE & YOUR VOTE

A UK General Election has been called for 4th July, and although the announcement took many by surprise, we’re ready to ensure whichever party comes into power, wildlife protection and animal welfare are on the agenda.

You can report it

A huge amount of distressing animal cruelty is circulated online, especially on social, so we’re part of a coalition encouraging people to take action. In May, ‘Report It’ week sent a clear message this unacceptable abuse must end.

Not just tigers

At Born Free, we’re all about umbrellas – species that is! Did you know, by securing a safe future for India’s tigers, we also protect other animals in their forest ecosystem, including rare pangolins and vultures!
