John, it's Diabetes Week!

This Diabetes Week, we want to talk about the health checks you need when you have diabetes.

We know life with diabetes can feel like number, check and test overload. You might feel like you don’t have the time to keep up with checks. Or maybe you’re not even sure what checks you should be getting. But regular diabetes health checks are vital to keep you healthy, so you can continue living life to the full.

Tests on things like your average blood sugar levels, heart, kidneys, eyes and feet will tell you and your healthcare team more about your diabetes, how it’s affecting your body and how to manage it. Regular checks can also help you spot signs of any changes early on, so you can get all the help and support you need.

We know lots of people aren’t getting the checks they need. Find out more about health checks and why they’re so important on our website – or pass the information on to someone else who may need it!

And remember, if you’re in need of any support or advice, our helpline is here for you. ( [link removed] )

Help us reach more people

A diabetes diagnosis can happen to anyone. No one should have to go through it alone. But there are millions of people who need our support, and we're not reaching all of them. This Diabetes Week, we need your help. Donations from people like you help us support people living with diabetes with information about the checks they need. They help us campaign for better care, and fund research to discover new treatments. Your support really matters.

It's general election time

It’s only four weeks until the general election and it’s time to show MP candidates that diabetes is serious. We need the next government to make sure everyone living with diabetes has access to the regular health checks, technology, treatments and support they need to live well with their condition. That’s why we’ve prepared some questions you can ask your local candidates if you see them out and about.
