Friends and Comrades- Thank you to everyone who helped and participated in the primary elections this past week! Whether you knocked on doors for Adam and Veronica, held signs at polling places, phone banked for Uncommitted, or simply exercised your right to vote, we appreciate your efforts! As citizens committed to seeing a more just, sustainable, generous, and compassionate world, our efforts matter!

Congratulations to Adam!

After a surprisingly rowdy campaign, Santa Fe County voters spoke loudly and delivered an overwhelming victory for Adam Fulton Johnson, who we have been proud to support for the Santa Fe County Commission District 4. Working class people across the rural, suburban, and urban parts of Adam's district rejected the cynical politics of red-baiting and corporate-funded campaigns in favor of a progressive voice solidly on the side of environmental protection and affordable housing. Congratulations Adam!

Amazing Campaign Veronica!

We also want to celebrate Veronica Krupnick for running a historic campaign for State Senate District 24 against established politicians with far greater funding and name recognition. Despite Veronica's loss, we hope to continue working with her and look forward to fighting in the future for indigenous and youth representation in our broken legislature.

Uncommitted Campaign

We thank the 20,000+ New Mexicans who registered their discontent with the political direction of our federal government and voted against Biden in the Democratic primary. We especially thank the work of the volunteers for the Uncommitted campaign, and organizers such as Samia Assed, and members of Jewish Voices for Peace ABQ, who have pushed tirelessly for the federal government and New Mexico's delegation to stand on the side of peace in Gaza and an end to US support for Israel's genocidal campaign.

Alianza Tenants Need Paralegal Assistance!

Alianza Tenant Union in Espanola continues its work against exploitive, out-of-state property management company Cornerstone Residential. You can donate to their legal fund here.

Alianza is currently also in need of people who can do volunteer paralegal work! If you can provide them assistance, please contact Dylan at 505-920-3334 or email them at [email protected].

First We Bombed New Mexico Screenings!

First We Bombed New Mexico is a powerful film that, according to the film's website, "is the untold story of Trinity, the world’s first nuclear bomb detonated in New Mexico one month before the bombing of Hiroshima... Thousands of New Mexicans - mostly Hispanic and Native American - were exposed to catastrophic levels of radioactive fallout, never warned, never acknowledged and never helped afterwards. Generations of cancers followed."

The will be screenings of the film at the Violet Crown today through Thursday. Please consider viewing this important film.

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
