Hi Jack,
With early voting in full swing and Primary Election Day coming up on June 18th, here is information I hope you find helpful! |
What is a Primary, and Why is it Important? |
Primaries are elections in which voters decide who will be the candidate for each political party. Then, each party’s primary election winner runs against the other in the general election in November.
In the 2024 primary election scheduled for June 18th (with early voting starting today in Sterling and Dulles) voters will cast their ballots to choose nominees for our Congressional District (known as CD-10), a position currently held by Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton, who is retiring at the end of her term this year. |
In 2018 we made history by sending three amazing women to Congress. With the upcoming retirements of Congresswomen Jennifer Wexton and Abigail Spanberger, and Elaine Luria's loss in 2022, it's crucial that we ensure Jennifer Boysko wins this race to maintain a strong presence of women leaders representing Virginia in Congress.
As someone whose family fled Iran during a revolution that stripped away freedoms, especially from women, I understand the importance of electing leaders who will protect our rights. Jennifer is exactly the kind of leader who will fight tirelessly for the rights of women, immigrants, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and all whose freedoms are under attack.
Having lived in Loudoun County for over 20 years, I know Jennifer's deep understanding of our community's needs. For nearly a decade, she represented Loudoun County in the State Senate and House, consistently proving herself to be a passionate advocate for our families.
Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, another trailblazing woman leader, has endorsed Jennifer Boysko in this race. With Wexton, Spanberger, and Luria no longer in Congress, McClellan will need some backup. Let’s send Jennifer to keep our new tradition of sending strong women to Congress and maintain the historic number of Jennifers in Congress!
Please join me in supporting Jennifer's campaign with your vote and with a donation today. Every dollar counts as we work to keep this seat in the hands of a Democratic woman who will fight for us. |
