The decision to run against Senator Menendez was one of the most
consequential decisions of my life. The reason I stepped up is because I'm
tired of constantly watching our politics fail our nation. We are just
cycling from crisis to crisis, and too many politicians aren't focused on
what the American people need help with.

Right now, a staggering 84 percent of people in New Jersey believe NJ
politicians are corrupt. The people of New Jersey deserve a choice for
what kind of public servant they have in the Senate.

Instead of throwing up my hands and giving up, I am stepping up to show
that there is a better way. We deserve leaders who can serve with
integrity. Leaders who are workhorses, not show horses. After Menendez's
scandal, we need a fresh new start — a chance to lift up a new generation
of leadership that can bring a new voice and deep public service
experience to the U.S. Senate.

It's been clear for some time that our campaign's momentum is incredible.
We went from being the underdog to becoming the Democratic Nominee.

There's a long way to go between now and November though – and Bob
Menendez is officially running as an Independent, making this a three-way
race. We need to make sure that we sustain and keep growing our momentum
to unify our party and build a broad coalition of support for keeping this
seat blue in November.

The only way we'll win is through grassroots power and investments today
in things like voter outreach.

Working together, I know we can do this, because we have done it several
times now. The PCCC was the first national group to raise funds for my
senate campaign and my first House race was the PCCC's first endorsement
of 2018!
