Kansas:

Wet in the East,

Dry in the West

It’s Time for

Bold Ideas,

Bold Thinking, and

Bold Action

The Ogallala Aquifer, a crucial and massive underground reservoir, has long supported the agricultural economy of western Kansas.

Formed millions of years ago from Rocky Mountain debris, the Aquifer faces a dire future due to decades of water table draw-down. As the water levels have dropped, farmers and ranchers have seen a dramatic decline in the water table level, causing decades of concern.

Historically, Kansas officials have favored permitting water well drilling to drive economic growth balanced against the Aquifer's sustainability.

Significant intervention has been avoided despite various incremental efforts by successive governor administrations—such as mapping groundwater, setting up local governing boards, and requiring well meters. Reluctance to a government driven and heavy-handed approach is rightfully driven by concerns about property rights.

The potential collapse of the Aquifer as a water resource would devastate Kansas economically, leading to higher food prices, a reduced tax base, and massive displacement of citizens, towns, and businesses in the western part of the state.

The urgent and looming end of the Aquifer in the state is a legitimate cause for growing concerns, and consideration of real solutions must come much sooner rather than later.

Local groundwater management districts (GMDs) have been established to address the issue, but these efforts are often relatively ineffective. The introduction of Local Enhanced Management Areas (LEMAs) has shown some success in reducing water use, yet these measures are not universally adopted and show uncomfortable signs of government intervention on the rights of private property owners.

Farmers have made strides in efficiency, adopting new technologies like center pivot irrigation and planting methods and plants that reduce water usage. However, these efforts are not enough to counteract the extensive depletion of the Aquifer. Financial incentives and federal grants have been provided, but they fall short of addressing the magnitude of the problem.

The solution to this big problem requires innovative thinking and the political willpower to put the resources behind a true fix versus the bandaid approach thus far utilized.

Big ideas and thinking like pumping water from the Missouri River in northeast Kansas to the west through several mechanical “lifts” to recharge the Aquifer, the consideration and action of creating 2-3 new surface reservoirs in western Kansas, and the mucking out of dirt silt from current Kansas reservoir basins to increase the water retention capacity volumes back to original are all good, expensive and forward-thinking ideas that must be on the table for consideration.

Without significant changes, the Ogallala Aquifer's decline will lead to a bleak future for Kansas agriculture, affecting not just farmers and ranchers, but the entire state's future, economy and identity.

When the crops need watered or folks need a drink isn’t the time to start thinking about this problem and creating real solutions. The time for decisive action is now, before the Aquifer reaches a point of no return and before Kansas goes completely dry.

As the “Breadbasket of the World”, Kansans, Americans and people across the globe rely on Kansas farmers, ranchers and land to feed humanity and to keep Kansas as the agricultural leader on the fruited plains of America the Beautiful.

And may those poetic “amber waves of grain” continue to shimmer in the golden Kansas sun forever.

D-Day Remembered

80 Years Later

The President joined veterans and allied-nation leaders Thursday to mark the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landing on June 6, 1944.

This commemoration honors a pivotal triumph of military strategy and extraordinary individual bravery that paved the way for Allied victory in World War II. The heroism displayed that day, along with the heavy toll it exacted, should never be forgotten.

This year’s anniversary, however, carries significance beyond its historical remembrance or the presence of the last surviving veterans. It is a poignant reminder for Americans and citizens of other free nations to internalize the lessons of D-Day, especially in the face of growing threats from authoritarian regimes and rogue states. The immense sacrifices made during D-Day and throughout World War II highlight the severe consequences when deterrence fails.

Wars are not just tragic; they symbolize the steadfast refusal of free societies to yield to tyranny and aggression. As we honor the courage of those who fought on D-Day, we must also remain vigilant and resolute in defending the freedoms they fought to preserve.

This anniversary is a call to uphold the values of liberty, freedom, and resilience and to dispatch, and not ignore or patronize, contemporary global threats.

Freedom has an extraordinary price.

195 Republican Candidates File for Office in Kansas

With the filing deadline for the upcoming election now passed, 195 Republican candidates have officially entered races for Congressional, Kansas House, Kansas Senate, and State School Board seats across Kansas.

Despite efforts to field Republican candidates for every seat, some districts with long-standing Democrat strongholds proved challenging and is a perpetual struggle, especially in these districts with a heavy registered Democrat voter advantage. The Kansas Republican Party has remained steadfast in our focus on winnable seats, as we did last year for the November elections, winning 901 of 1,160 (78% win rate) open seats in November.

Running for office takes gritty courage, dogged determination, and deep personal conviction driven by little sleep and missed family dinners, and fueled by lots of caffeine.

The personal sacrifices made these amazing Kansans to run for office is substantial and commendable. We are all proud of, and thankful for, them. A huge thank you goes to their support team, including family, friends, and neighbors who take this journey with them.

The Kansas Republican Party extends sincere gratitude to all who have filed and wishes them the best of luck.

United States Congressional Races

This election cycle, the Kansas Republican Party is concentrating on two critical Congressional races: the open seat in the Second Congressional District (CD2) and the Third Congressional District (CD3), currently held by Democrat Sharice Davids. Five Republicans will compete in the August primary for CD2, while CD3 has two Republican contenders. The party is committed to supporting the primary winners in both districts through November.

Kansas House of Representatives

For the 125 Kansas House seats, 127 Republicans have filed, leading to several primary contests. All of the current 85 Republican-held seats will feature a Republican candidate in November. Additionally, 69 incumbents seek re-election, with 16 Republican candidates running for open seats. In 21 Democrat-held House seats, Republicans will challenge the incumbents while defending all Republican seats in the general election.

Kansas Senate

In the first election since redistricting, 50 Republicans are running for the 40-seat Kansas Senate, ensuring Republican candidates will be on the ballot in 37 districts.

Kansas State School Board

For the five State School Board seats up for election, eight Republicans have filed, guaranteeing a Republican presence on the ballot for each seat in November.

KSGOP Support for Kansas Republicans in 2024

With the 2024 election filing deadline now past, I would like to take a moment to let you know about what the KSGOP is offering to candidates and volunteers, from precinct committee persons to US Congress.

First is our data and volunteer platform, Numinar.

Campaigns around Kansas are knocking doors, sending text messages, making calls, polling, and accessing voter data through this innovative software. If you’re a data junky like myself, the AI mapping of poll results across your whole dataset is one of the coolest ways I’ve seen AI used in politics. For example, I can ask 300 people in Miami County how they feel about lowering property taxes, and then Numinar can predict how other voters in Miami County will feel about lowering property taxes.

After working with various data platforms in the campaign realm, Numinar is by far the best I’ve ever used. Don’t just take my word for it, CampaignTech awarded Numinar Best Software in 2023.

The best part for candidates and volunteer across Kansas is that the KSGOP offers Numinar to all candidates and volunteers for free, if you need help getting started, reach out to me at [email protected].

As Executive Director, I’m happy to travel the state, talk about campaigns and elections, and offer trainings. If your group would like me to come speak, let me know. I have worked on various campaigns through the years and am happy to help elect Republicans in your area.

KSGOP is also offering Non-Profit Mail to Republicans across Kansas. This allows campaigns to use our indicia – saving big money on postage. KSGOP has utilized this lower mail rate and text messaging, door knocking, and calling through Numinar to help Republicans win, leading to nearly 80% of Republicans winning in the last local election. While those numbers are great, we need your help to make them even better!

Please sign up to volunteer at https://www.kansas.gop/take-action or make a small donation today so that we can send texts and mailers across Kansas. After all, you are the reason we are able to win elections – the KSGOP grassroots is the second to none!

If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to call, text, or email!

It’s an honor to serve as your KSGOP Executive Director,

Dakotah Parshall

This Embarrassment Says She Represents YOU.

NOPE.

Sharice Davids, KS CD-3, twice voted “no” on the impeachment of failed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Leading up to and following the first impeachment vote, House Speaker Mike Johnson declined to vote on a bill sent by the U.S. Senate for military aid to Ukraine, citing the absence of provisions for U.S. border security. The political maneuvering forced a bright light on the importance of the U.S./Mexico border and drew criticism from Democratic representative Davids, who accused politicians of playing games.

With Republicans eyeing the upcoming elections, the focus on border issues will intensify. A decrease in illegal crossings this January has been noted due to Texas Governor Abbott blocking the border in that state with the help of many other states from across the Union. Assistance of Kansas National Guard on this important matter did not come from Kansas as ultra-liberal and divisive Kansas Governor Laura Kelly ignored the majority of Kansans and sat silent taking no action whatsoever.

The impeachment, based on allegations of incompetence, passed narrowly. Senate support for conviction remains uncertain but Kansans encourage their U.S. Senators to support the impeachment of Mayorkas.

Border security consistently ranks high on the overall concerns of Kansans and Americans. U.S. Border Security must be a priority shown by our elected officials to maintain the support of Kansas Republicans.

In Kansas' 3rd Congressional District, immigration and border security are of critical importance and related issues resonate across political divides. As the campaign unfolds, the border debate will intersect with broader political narratives, shaping the electoral landscape in Kansas CD-3 and beyond.

Republicans in CD-3 are encouraged to look into their current member of Congress’s voting record and discover for themselves that we have our very own Nancy Pelosi - right here in Kansas.

The importance of the 2024 elections in Kansas cannot be overstated.

We must register every eligible voter, convince them to vote Republican, and make sure they get to the polls to get Kansas Republican candidates across the finish line and to get President Trump back in the White House!

Please join us in sharing this information with your friends, family, neighbors, and folks at church.

Right now is the time to win

the November elections!

Let’s roll.

This is a weekly reminder that Joe Biden, President of the United States, and his son, Hunter Biden, are liars and kingpins in a crime syndicate ring.

This is also your reminder Biden has weaponized the US Courts, DOJ, FBI, EPA, DOE, DOI, and the entirety of the US Federal Government AGAINST YOU.

The Biden family has betrayed America, committing the crime of treason.

They must be held accountable at the polls.

#NeverForget

Americans overwhelmingly believe Joe Biden has failed as the President of the United States, is too old, and is mentally incapable of serving again.

Joe Biden has failed on many topics over the last 3+

years, and here are just a few of those failures;

Botched Afghanistan withdrawal plunging that country into Sharia Law and women of all ages into a miserable existence.

Where are womens rights groups on this?

America instantly surrendered energy independence for energy dependence simply because Joe Biden was grinding an ax.

Where are the big labor unions on this?

Inflation has skyrocketed and Biden thinks Americans are stupid and don't see and feel it.

Where is YOUR voice promoting Republican principles and decrying this disastrous Administration?
