John,

I might be running to serve California in Congress, but that doesn’t mean I will slow down on furthering my legislative work on behalf of Californians.

Every day in office it’s my mission to deliver progress, for Californians and for our environment. I'm proud to share just a few of my efforts to protect our state’s wildlife and their habitats. These bills that I authored recently passed the Assembly:
The Room to Roam Act (AB 1889) enhances wildlife connectivity and prioritizes corridors to allow our biodiversity to thrive, allowing us to thrive. Wildlife connectivity corridors protect both human and animal life by providing protected spaces for animals to migrate, and reducing traffic collisions and other unwanted interactions.

Wetlands: State Policy (AB 2875) protects California’s precious and dwindling wetlands from a recent Supreme Court decision which dismantled protections for our nation’s wetlands. Now, California can hold the line against this rogue court. Our wetlands are critical habitat for our state's native species. They are not for sale.

Pesticides: anticoagulant rodenticides (AB 2252) expands rat poison restrictions to include a class of toxic poisons which kill thousands of non-target wildlife and pets. These rodenticides, still available for purchase, were widely criticized after a photo of our beloved P-22 emerged, showing him with mange linked to rodenticides, which kill through internal hemorrhaging. There is no reason to continue the use of rodenticides when less lethal alternatives are available

It is an honor to shepherd these bills out of the Assembly, and you have my word that I will work tirelessly until my final day to ensure they become law.

And as your Congresswoman, you can guarantee I will take this spirit of strong, California-first policy like this national, and always put your safety ahead of easy short-cuts.

If you’re able, please donate $3 today to help ensure we bring proven, effective leadership to Washington.

Thank you,

Laura
