Hello and welcome to my election update!
We're now less than four weeks away from Polling Day!
The choice in this election is becoming starker by the day, and the Conservative Party are getting increasingly desperate.
The PM is having to resort to telling blatant lies to avoid talking about his record in government, so little does he have to say.
But whilst things are looking good in the polls, there is no room for complacency.
We'll be out every single day between now and polling day, fighting for every vote, and making the case about the difference a Labour MP, working with a Labour Government, can have on our communities.

Elections are many things, but one thing they are not is cheap.
Leaflets, posters, gardens stakes, social media advertisements, there is so much that goes into a successful campaign, and that cannot be done without funds.
We know the Tories have gamed the system, massively increasing spending limits so their billionaire donors can throw even more money at their failed party.
If we are to win this election, we need to fight them all the way.
So, anything you can spare, big or small, will all go into our campaign battle fund, helping beat the Tories so we can change our country.

𝐆𝐰𝐲𝐧𝐧𝐞: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞
It has been the honour of my life to represent my hometown, it means so much to me.
There's plenty more I want to achieve, which is why I'm fighting for every vote at this election.
I'll be out every day between now and July 4 to make my case to the people of Gorton & Denton, Burnage, Levenshulme and Longsight about the difference a Labour MP, working with a Labour Government, can make for them.

Thank you to Councillor Suzanne Richards for showing me the fantastic Active Streets initiative on Patey Street in Longsight.
The project sees a road closed for a day, cars moved, and the space opened up to bring the community together with games and sports equipment, a bike repair stall, and an energy efficient co-op supporting local people to reduce their bills.
Well done to all those involved in supporting such a brilliant and innovative use of local space, and I look forward to seeing even more Active Streets across our community!

Thank you to Open Kitchen Manchester for inviting me to see the fantastic weekly food bank they run, distributing food parcels and clothes to those in need across the local community in Longsight.
They set up during the pandemic supporting vulnerable people, and have never stopped working since, thanks to their network of donors including lots of local businesses.
It was great to see them joined by Feed My City, proving people with a hot nutritious meal, and helping spread that community spirit which makes such a difference to people’s lives.

Our Tame Valley is a precious local asset, and we cannot allow it to be taken from us.
Last time the developers came calling, I led the fightback from our community, and I'll do so again now they’re back with more plans for industrial units at Bredbury.
For a vocal champion, who will stand up for the jewel in Denton's crown, vote GWYNNE on July 4th.

I’m proud to be backed by Labour Friends of Palestine & the Middle East in this election.
I have been unequivocal in my calls for an IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE, as well as the need for an increase in aid, the upholding of international law, and the need to recognise a Palestinian State.
If re-elected on July 4, I will continue to use my voice in Parliament to speak out, and fight for the lasting peace that people in Gaza so desperately need.

This week we honour those brave British, Canadian and other Commonwealth and American soldiers, and many others, who helped turn the tide of the Second World War, and put the allies on a path to victory.
Their sacrifice was made so that generations since would live in a free and peaceful society.
Their bravery and heroism is a lesson to us now more than ever, and must never be forgotten.

Plans to develop our precious Tame Valley have been resurrected by a new developer. We are urging residents to attend a public consultation event next week and deliver a clear message to the developers: 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘂𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗯𝘀!
Alongside Team Denton South Councillors, we’ll be resuming our positions at the front of this battle once more. Please share this poster and encourage friends, family and neighbours to attend.

It's been the honour of my life to serve as the Member of Parliament for my hometown of Denton for the last 19 years.
I'm proud of my strong track record of delivery, and if re-elected on July 4th, it's a record I promise will continue.

Another brilliant week on the doors right across the constituency.
I've had such a warm welcome from residents across the new areas of the patch, who are enthusiastic about the difference a Labour MP and Labour Government can make to their communities.
It's been equally great to have a great response across Denton, which I've represented in Parliament for the last 19 years, including lifelong Tory voters backing me because of my track record of delivery.
