Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day.
Today, we take time to reflect on the lives lost to acts of gun violence. But we also come together to continue our work to put an end to this epidemic.
We shouldn’t live in a society where guns are the leading cause of death among American children and teens. Where 4.6 million American children live in a home with an unsecured gun. Where children and educators have to go to school in fear.
It doesn’t have to be like this, John. That’s why we work around the clock to empower educators and school staff to become advocates against gun violence. Our work isn’t just important today – it’s important every day.
Normally, we reach out to ask for donations. But today, we’re asking for your signature.
We need to show that our movement is widely supported, so in honor of National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we’re asking 1,200 people to sign our petition to stand against gun violence in our schools and communities.
