Yesterday was National Eyewear Day, a day to celebrate the sight-saving potential of a simple pair of glasses.😎👓
Did you know that untreated refractive errors like near- and far-sightedness are the leading causes of vision loss worldwide? 🌎 And more than 1 billion people lack access to glasses that could improve their vision.
And thanks to the support of committed donors like you, initiatives like our REACH (Refractive Error Among Children) project, which screens school children and refers pupils to a vision center to receive glasses, are working to reduce this gap.
In 2023 alone, we prescribed more than 88,000 pairs of glasses—that's a lot of healthy eyes you have helped make possible!💪
