John —

Too many people have tragically lost their lives to gun violence, and too many others have endured the pain of saying goodbye to a loved one far too soon.

National Gun Violence Awareness Day is June 7-9, and Oregonians and people across the country will wear orange to honor the lives we’ve lost and demand action on an issue that’s been ignored for far too long. I’m hoping you’ll join us, John.

Gun violence is an issue that I’ve worked hard to address during my time in public service. I led efforts to pass Oregon’s universal background checks law and played a crucial role in securing votes for legislation banning individuals with a history of domestic violence restraining orders from owning a firearm as a member of the state legislature.

But America’s gun violence crisis also requires action on a national scale. That’s why I’ll be wearing orange this weekend to support a future free from gun violence. Enough is enough, John. Will you join me and millions of others who support addressing gun violence by pledging to participate in Wear Orange Weekend?
