Walter, Randolph, and Ted are adorable steers whose loving guardian needed to find them a new home. Knowing we must try to keep these besties together, we turned to Farm Animal Adoption Network (FAAN) partner Longleaf Animal Sanctuary. Read on to see what life is like for this bonded trio now. Following a cross-movement effort by the Healthy Future Students and Earth Coalition, the USDA released its new child nutrition standards, making changes that boost student access to nutritious plant-based meals. Schools will have greater flexibility to serve beans, peas, and lentils as main proteins and offer nuts and seeds in meat alternatives, among other improvements.
