 RIDE TRE TO OPAL'S WALK FOR FREEDOM, JUNE 19
Opal Lee, a renowned activist, will lead her annual 2.5-mile walk at the African American Museum in Dallas on Wednesday, June 19. The walk commemorates the delayed news of freedom reaching enslaved people in Texas after the Emancipation Proclamation.
The 2.5-mile distance signifies the 2.5 years it took for word of liberation to reach Texas and be enforced.
For those interested in attending, TRE offers a seamless connection to downtown Dallas. Participation allows attendees to walk alongside Lee and fellow participants, celebrating Juneteenth and its historical significance.
LOST 'N SOUND, JUNE 15
Lost ‘N Sound transforms businesses all throughout the village into one-day music venues hosting local musicians across genres and at different stages of their career. Community members are invited to enjoy the performances while exploring both traditional music venues and unexpected spaces like architecture offices, art galleries, retailers, recording studios, and film studios hosting stages.
Ride Trinity Metro buses, TEXRail, TRE or ZIPZONE to reach the Near Southside festivities. And, on the event date, specially marked ZIPZONE vans will be shuttling eventgoers up and down South Main Street to enjoy dozens of participating South Main Village venues with markets, food, music and more.

 JUNETEENTH SERVICE MODIFICATIONS
Juneteenth is coming up and we've got a few service modifications. On Wednesday, June 19, Trinity Metro buses and ACCESS paratransit will operate on Sunday schedules.
- TEXRail, Trinity Railway Express (TRE) and ZIPZONE on-demand rideshare services will operate on regular schedules.
- TRE Link and the CentrePort Circulator will also operate on regular schedules.
- Customer Care Kiosk will be closed.
