JOHN,
This is my first run for political office. But it’s far from my first experience bringing people together and finding common ground to get things done.
When I was General Counsel & Senior VP for Development at Drury Hotels, I spent decades building relationships and crafting deals that enriched communities, generated hundreds of good-paying jobs, and invested in people and neighborhoods for the long term.
During that time, I remained active as a volunteer member of the Red Cross and have always looked for ways to get involved and help people in need. (In fact, I am writing this email to you from Washington, D.C., where I am attending a meeting of the National Philanthropic Board of the American Red Cross!)
Now, I am applying the knowledge I’ve gained across a lifetime of public service and building consensus in the business world to this campaign to put an end to the chaos and division in Jefferson City.
And here’s what I know we must do if we are going to win (which I know we will!): we must build and run the biggest, best door to door voter outreach program Senate District 15 has ever seen.
When I talk to folks at the doors, the reception I get blows me away. The thing I hear the most from people is that they are both surprised and relieved to have a candidate for office come to them and ask for their thoughts and then listen to their concerns. But having these conversations isn’t just a tactic to win an election—I see it as an essential duty for anyone seeking to represent people in government.
I have told my team that this approach is what I expect from them, and from myself. We will settle for nothing less. We won’t just say that “We Can Do Better”: we will show that we can!
If you can help us build our door to door team effort so that we can show the people of Senate District 15 what real leadership looks like, I would be so grateful. Thank you in advance for your support: |
