Hey, Sal McBride here! 👋 For those who haven’t met me, I’m Sarah’s mom
(and #1 fan).
My husband, Dave, and I are so proud that our daughter Sarah is running to
represent us in Congress — and with less than 100 days until her primary
election, I’m writing to ask you to support her campaign today.
If you’ve ever had the good fortune to meet Sarah, then you know how big
her smile gets when you bring up Delaware.
Ever since she was little, she’s loved this state with her entire being.
When most kids were playing sports, she was spending her nights and
weekends knocking on neighbor’s doors to get out the vote for Jack Markell
and Beau Biden.
She even came up with a term for folks who are patriotic about their state
— “statriots.” 😂
She’s the only person I know who had been to every town and city in
Delaware by the age of 18. And when she went to college, spent time in the
White House, and served as the national spokesperson for the Human Rights
Campaign, we always knew Delaware remained at the center of her heart.
Now, we’ve watched Sarah grow from a young “statriot” to a respected
leader in the State Senate who has led the way on paid family leave,
common-sense gun reform, and access to healthcare for all Delawareans,
regardless of their background or where they live.
I may be biased, but I don’t know anyone who will work harder or more
passionately for our state than Sarah.
