This is thanks in no small part to unusually warm ocean waters. NOAA expects anywhere from eight to thirteen hurricanes this season in comparison to a typical season which averages just seven. From Hurricanes Maria and Ida to Michael and Harvey, hurricanes in the past few years have caused deaths, displacements, and billions of dollars in damage. But too often, we hear myths and misinformation about hurricanes, how they form, and how they’re connected to the climate crisis. That’s why we put together this brief quiz so that you can test your knowledge and share some critical facts with your family and friends. Will you take just a few minutes to test your climate knowledge? As global temperatures rise, extreme weather will become more frequent and more intense – and our most vulnerable communities will continue to be hit the very hardest. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We CAN build a just and sustainable future for all – and education is a critical part of this fight. Thank you for everything that you do. -Your friends at Climate Reality
